Financial Aid Application for Jewish Teen Leadership Events Supported by The Temple Teen Scholarship Fund The Temple - Tifereth Israel, 2017-2018

• Financial aid from The Temple-Tifereth Israel Teen Scholarship Fund is used exclusively to provide financial assistance to families that are members of The Temple-Tifereth Israel for their teenage children who require financial assistance for the purpose of attending regional and national NFTY programming, or other approved leadership development programs.

• The TWA Youth Endowment Fund is used to provide both financial assistance and merit based scholarships to families that are members of The Temple-Tifereth Israel for their teenage children

o Who require financial assistance for the purpose of attending regional and national NFTY programming or other approved leadership development programs. o Show exemplary leadership traits and characteristics and through their leadership have made meaningful contributions to The Temple and/or Temple Youth Group. These contributions include organizing meetings, events, project, engaging new youth, and being a teen leader at temple.

o The TWA Youth Endowment Fund scholarship may be used towards Youth Leadership Events, Programs or Jewish summer camps.

• Fees for each event vary. Each family/participant applying for financial assistance is required to contribute a minimum of $25.00 per event. It is the responsibility of the teen and the family to turn in all applications on time, including online registration forms. If regional event applications are not turned in on time, it is the responsibility of the family to pay the "late-fee." For each event there is an early bird deadline. After said deadline, the overall price for the event will increase by $25.00 (in most cases). The Temple- Tifereth Israel will consider funding the late fee associated with missing registration deadlines only under rare circumstances. Applicants and families are welcome to apply for scholarship money to cover all expenses minus any late fees.

• Recognizing that we have limited scholarship resources available, we ask that your family contribute as much as possible toward this specific event. The Teen Scholarship Fund and TWA Youth Endowment Fund will attempt to provide as much assistance as possible to subsidize the cost of the event for each teen/family.
