This Endowment Fund is designed as a living memorial to two sisters who died 23 years apart and long before their time. Lindsay succumbed to cystic fibrosis a few days short of her 18th birthday in 1998. She was an indomitable force and displayed great energy, determination and spunk. Lindsay was a committed and willing upstander. She stood by the “underdog” never worrying about what the popular choice would be or what anyone else would think. She stood for everything that was right, fair and just. Lindsay’s little sister Cassidy Stark Impink, an accomplished wife, mother and professional, lost a courageous battle with breast cancer at the age of 37 in 2021. Cassidy was a child life specialist, making things better for young hospital patients and their families. Cassidy was the nucleus of many diverse groups. She loved to bring people together for fun, laughter and joy, making everyone feel they were the most important person in the room. Helping others transcended every aspect of both Cassidy’s and Lindsay’s life. Both young women loved life and both would consistently strive to make things better for the people around them.
This Social Action Fund is a fitting memorial to both Lindsay and Cassidy. Their positivity, energy and enthusiasm should be a beacon to others as we come together to improve lives, solve problems and serve our communities. As part of the Fund’s mission, each year a scholarship award worth $500 is given to a Temple student who most exemplifies the action and ideals that meant so much to both Lindsay and Cassidy.
