Nancy Levy is a third generation congregant. She shares a story about her immigrant grandmother, newly widowed with young children and many responsibilities, turning to Rabbi Abba Hillel Silver for help. He became a father figure to her children, and nurtured the family bond with The Temple. Nancy says, ”I am proud of my roots and cherish my Jewish heritage. When my beloved husband, Howard, passed away in 2007, I created a Fund in his memory. This past summer I enhanced the Fund and renamed it the Nancy Malevan Levy and Howard A. Levy Fund for Music and Learning. My late husband had a keen intellect and was challenged by new ideas. My love for music and singing keeps me involved with Entertainmobile, a performance group sponsored by NCJW. The Fund is a way I can honor Howard’s memory while keeping both our interests vital and alive.” - Nancy Levy
